“… The physical fitness efforts of Sunset Elementary School Principal Jason Romero are paying off.
Romero has been named Principal of the Year by the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.
When Romero was named principal three years ago, attendance and performance was low, tardy rates were high, and most students weren’t passing physical fitness tests.
Today, the school boasts an Academic Performance Index of 817, rising fitness scores and increased attendance…”
