Granderson given award for his work by Players Association

Posted on: November 1, 2009

Curtis Granderson, CF of the Detroit Tigers, was recently awarded the Marvin Miller Man of the Year award by the MLB Players Association for his work on and off the field.  This was due as a combination of all Granderson’s charitable efforts and the MLBPA donated $50,000 to a charity of his choice.  He also becomes the first Tiger since Al Kaline in 1973 to win a national charitable award: http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20091030&content_id=7582518&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb
