President Barak Obama happens to be an avid sports enthusiast and an above average basketball player.  So, when it came time for last Sunday night’s NBA All-Star Game in Phoenix, Arizona, President Obama issued a message to the viewers on TNT that night.  In the president’s one minute and forty second video clip, he encouraged all citizens to help out in their communities through local programs set up on the following website, made possible by his administration:

The website’s theme is entitled “Renewing America Together,” and Obama suggests ways to pitch in during his All-Star segment, including reading to children or fixing up a local basketball court.  “Tonight, we celebrate individual excellence but we remember that throughout the game’s history, its greatest players — its champions — are those who don’t just perfect their own game, but make those around them better,” he says.
